Hop on Pop

Boom from the womb, stepped into the world
My arms long I felt around for a pearl
But I couldn’t find one, nor devise one
Searching for my soul
Underneath this mould
Noticed early on not every bird sings his songs
But boy did she smile at this boy a long while
Apple of her eye, her one and only guy
To keep her company, this fleshy lump of me
Caused plenty of problems but she always solved them
Strongest woman I’ve ever seen
Supreme queen of my dreams

Then along came a man, offered no hand
Just a finger to chew on, a mind that was dead wrong
He split before my first play kit, couldn’t find fit, didn’t mind shit
Just intruded and lashed back, flew off like a wise crack
But his expectations irked me so, wanted in on the equation, no
So he left before,
Didn’t close the door
Just left it ajar, I still had so far
I was left behind, last thing on his mind
A baby boy with lots of toys
But needing a lap to place my fat
All those play dates we never had
Thinking back on it makes me sad
But no remorse just constant bribes
So still no desire to know the guy
Wanted in on my life? No reply
Touch down after strife? No comply
