terrestrial

He knows his captor circles the sky
Gaze should be trained upward
But delights roam free in front of him
He leaves the sky behind

Berry freckles span the land
Beds of lush flowers flowing
Eyes of passion follow his path
Invite him to trunked quarters

He laps the juice and grins his grin
Belly soft with nature's excess
He frolicks here and capers there
Tail a proud cape on which he soars

And as a maiden summons him near
He follows his carnal calling
But as eyes lock with his lass
His claws lift quickly upward

The wretched flight! The jostled fright!
He always knew the world a gift
But habits die hard and so do things
His carelessness caught up with him

Eyes of platinum fillet his fur
His striped back snaps swiftly
Maiden sighs, she knows the drill
His limp cape flaps and settles.
