Into you, not it

i'm not too interested in the world
just the way you filter it
words don't carry much weight
except when you say them
what's the breath in my lungs for
if not to breathe into you
sure I see lines and shapes
but with you technicolor.

then you left
and grayness grabbed hold
to shake loose the wonder
thirsty men cried
impossible tears
in silence i hear you
in stillness i fear you
desire feigns glances
that illusions devour

not sure whose world you rule now
not sure whose thoughts you carry
i just know when I wore your skin
it kept me warm
i still can't take it off.
