Need to make time for myself
But living life to the fullest is a must
That’s what this goddamn culture keeps telling me
Living to the fullest is most important right now
I can address all the heavy shit when I get older
And by that time I’ll have it all figured out
But I can see straight through that lie
In fact, I think we all can if we just try
But to do so is one of the scariest thoughts
That maybe I’ve become another robot
Break free from the sturdy tethers of society
Wait! I might fall and who’s gonna catch me?
The one who will always be there is she
Then she leaves and you continue to bleed
Contentment through materialism is the only way
Buy yourself more shit and you’ll be happier today!
Then all your shit burns down in a huge fire
And ashes are all that remains of your empire
Loving one another is the only way to heal this pain
Humans need to understand we are each the same
We awake to this planet and fall asleep in its fangs
But our important lives we will continue to feign
The illness is so deep within us, we may be too late
Bring down the castle walls that shield the shared heart
The only way to each other is to realize our common fate
Otherwise we will continue on, only more torn apart
